The first big event of the Rebirth era, 2017's Justice League vs. Suicide Squad sees Joshua Williamson marshalling an array of top-notch talent in service of a story that does exactly what it says on the tin, and then some. Collecting not just the main six-issue miniseries but all of the Justice League and Suicide Squad tie-ins, this volume is a right rollicking ride and no mistake.

Where Batman: Universe will act as something of a palate-cleanser for the extension, this volume will hopefully demonstrate that while we'll be going broader and deeper than the collection's original 1980–Rebirth remit, we won't be turning our backs on eras already covered if the story warrants inclusion.

That said, after this one, we're heading back to the Bronze Age...

It's Friday, which must mean it's time to reveal the third release in the DC Heroes & Villains Collection extension! And as promised, we're going back to the Bronze Age of Comics, with a 1975–1976 series that's long been a subject of some fascination: The Joker!

This volume will collect not only all nine issues of The Joker series, featuring the talents of Denny O'Neil, Irv Novick and others, but the long-thought-lost 10th issue, AND two key Bronze Age stories: Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams' 'The Joker's Five-Way Revenge!' from Batman #251 (September 1973), and O'Neil and Novick's 'This One'll Kill You, Batman!' from Batman #260 (January–February 1975).

On top of which, there are two bonus features on the Joker which haven't been seen since they were first published in The Joker series nearly 50 years ago; an afterword by Denny O'Neil; and a Jim Aparo Bronze Age Joker cover gallery!

It's one of the most unique volumes in the collection to date, and it's just the start of a gaggle – or should that be giggle? – of Joker-focused volumes to come in the extension. On which, more anon. For now, enjoy the Dick Giordano, Neal Adams and Nick Cardy original art for the covers of The Joker #1, Batman #251 and Batman #260, and have a lovely weekend!

Wychodzi na to, że będzie to komiks lepszy niż "Joker: Świat". Jak zresztą każdy komiks.

Wygląda na to, że trochę nadrobili opóźnienie, bo tomy 82-83 właśnie przyszły, wraz z kolekcją książkowych horrorów.

Dokładnie. Wygląda na to, że Jones uwielbia Batmana z lat 80-ych i tym razem będzie to początek runu Jima Starlina z lat 1987-88. Są tam takie znane historie jak Dumpster Slasher, Ten Nights of the Beast, You Shoulda Seen Him. To okres, kiedy Batman naginał swoje zasady.
